Ernest Bush

Ernest G. Bush, age 96, of Coopersville, passed away Saturday, February 29, 2020. Ernie was born in Coopersville, MI. to the late Millard and Hattie (Laug) Bush.  He was also preceded in death by his grandson, Drew Veeneman; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ray (Margaret) Bush and Howard (Eloise) Bush and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ray (Lorraine) Bulthuis. He was a Staff Sgt. in the U.S Army during WWII and served in the Philippines for 26 months. Ernie along with his brothers Ray and Howard owned Coopersville Lumber Co. for over 50 years. After retirement he enjoyed traveling and spending time in Florida. Ernie is survived by his wife of 71 years Donna (Bulthuis) Bush; children, Mary Veeneman, Betty (Joe) Wurm, Jim (Lisa) Bush, Steve (Cris) Bush; 9 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm, Tuesday March 3, 2020 at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St. Coopersville, MI 49404 with burial in the Coopersville-Polkton Twp. Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5:00 to 8:00 pm Monday, March 2, 2020 at the funeral home in Coopersville.
