Emma Gerlach

Emma Gerlach, age 101, passed away Thursday, January 27, 2022. She was born in Dresden, North Dakota to the late Rudolf and Pauline (Sperling) Lick. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John, Son Duane Gerlach, brothers Teddy, Buddy and Frank Lick, 3 sisters Evelyn Shushman, Lillian Zettle and Verna Lick. Emma worked alongside her husband on their fruit farms in Benton Harbor, Spinks Corners and Coloma. MI. She retired from Bendix Corporation and her true passion was dancing and cooking for family and friends. She will be deeply missed by her children, Norman Gerlach, Deborah (Stan) Yetzke, Sheryl Teachout and Gary (Debbie) Gerlach; 17 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; siblings, Delina Boyd and Norman (Patricia) Lick; sisters-in-law, Gloria Siewert, Jean Antonovich and Nancy Schoenow and several nieces and nephews. In keeping with her wish cremation has taken place. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Burial will take place in North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma, MI. Memorial donations may be made to Fountain View Assisted Living of Coopersville, 640 W. Randall St. Coopersville, MI 49404, or Grace Lutheran Church, 300 Cleveland St. E. Coopersville, MI 49404.
