Edward Nave

August 14, 1934 — October 6, 2016

Edward Curtis Nave, age 82, passed away at his home in Norton Shores, Michigan on Thursday, October 6, 2016. He was born on August 14, 1934 in Lakeview, Michigan to William Eberhard and Leila (Houser) Nave. Edward attended grade school and high school in Lakeview. He went on to graduate from Grand Rapids Community College with an Associate degree. On July 3, 1954, he married Clara Joan Gates. Together, they had two daughters and a son. Ed was a lineman in charge for Consumers Power Company in Grand Rapids, Michigan until his retirement in 1994. He joined the Navel Reserves in 1955. Edé�a�a��s special interests included horseback riding, watching movies and spending time with his family. He is survived by his 3 children: Patricia Laug, James Nave and Debra (Steve) Stevens; eight grandchildren: Angie Laug, Scott (Margo) Laug, Ashley Timmer, Brittney Laug, Craig (Alecia) Stevens, Philip Stevens, Emily Stevens and Megan Stevens; six great grandchildren: Olivia Laug, Ethan Laug, Violet Laug, Isla Timmer, Zakry Randall and Lorelei Stevens; brother Patrick Nave; sister Ann Podein; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at 7:00 pm at Life Stream Church, 6561 Lake Michigan Drive, Allendale, Michigan. Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 to 7:00 pm prior to the service. The family would like to personally thank the staff of Seminole Shores Assisted Living Center and Hospice of Michigan for their kind and loving care.
