Duane A Bowman, age 72, of Coopersville, passed away Tuesday morning May 28, 2013 with family at his side. Duane was a volunteer conductor on the Coopersville and Marne Railroad in Coopersville for many years. Duane retired from the US Army after 34 years of service as a staff sergeant in the military police. He also retired from the Union Pacific Railroad where he worked for 30 years. He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Maxine; daughters Lagina (Ray) Kozak, Lavita (Jeff) Marker, and Jaxine (Bryan) Hicks; 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brothers Jim (Jennie) Bowman, Clois (Beverley) Bowman and Gary (Marian) Bowman; sister, Phyllis Reed and several nieces, nephews, stepchildren and friends. Funeral Services will be held Friday 11:00 am at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St, Coopersville. Rev Randy Miller officiating with burial in the Coopersville Cemetery.
