Dorothy Kelly

Kelly - Dorothy Rose (Ksiazkiewicz), aged 85, of Coopersville, a dedicated wife and mother, went home to be with the Lord on July 19, 2010. She had been courageously battling health problems for some time. She was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan April 23, 1925, and was raised on the West Side of Grand Rapids & in Rural Grandville. She graduated from Grandville High School while at the family farm. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Earnest Kelly, son, John Owen Kelly, parents, Albert and Victoria (Grzeszkowick) Ksiazkiewicz, brothers and sisters-in-law, George and Jean Roberts and Robert V. and Ester Roberts. She is survived by sons, William Henry Kelly (Cindy) of Hudsonville and James Allen Kelly (Debra) of Newaygo; daughter, Sally Jo Brown (Greg) of Allendale; grandchildren, Brian Steven Kelly (Jayne) of Troy, Mi. and Jill Marie Kelly of Grand Rapids, James Allen Kelly Jr. (Jimilynn) of Allendale, Jason Waters (Rachel) of Sparta, and Krista Waters of Wyoming, Mi., Tricia Marie Stokes (Nick) of Ellicott City Md. and Kelly Jo Brown of Allendale; great grandchildren, Jack William Kelly, Thomas Michael Kelly of Troy, Mi., Tyler Waters, Dillon Waters, Brayden Waters of Sparta, Champ Allen Kelly of Allendale, and many nieces and nephews throughout the country. Dorothy will be remembered as a kind and generous person. She was a faithful loving wife and tireless care giver for many years to her husband Henry. They were married on April 19, 1949. She now walks effortlessly with God. Funeral Services will be held Thursday 11:00 a.m. at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St, Coopersville. Rev John Morse officiating. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery,Grand Rapids. Friends may meet the family Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Coopersville VFW Post 5598.
