Donald Westveld

Donald T. Westveld, age 73, of Newaygo, passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2018. Don owned Sani Sweep Inc. in Grand Rapids, Dons Driftwood Inn in Croton, Northern Trails Bar and Grill in Newaygo and the Shamrock Pub and Grill in White Cloud. He enjoyed traveling and spending time in Florida. Don was very much a people person and enjoyed talking with everyone he met and was always willing to help others. He is survived by Annette Westveld; son, Todd Westveld and Jodi; daughter, Jodi Koster; son, Thomas “TJ” Westveld and Sue; grandchildren, Joshua (Kaitlyn) Barrett, Curtis Westveld and Norman Brown; great granddaughter, Kylie Barrett; stepchildren, Rick (Julie) VerBeek, Jonathan (Kendra) VerBeek, William (Kelly) VerBeek, Stephanie Barrett and Nathan (Nicole) Barrett; 9 step grandchildren; brothers, Vern (Gloria) Westveld and Marv Westveld; sister-in-law Carol Westveld and many nieces and nephews. In keeping with his wish cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, June 15, 2018, 12:00 Noon at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St, Coopersville, MI 49404, with visitation prior to the service from 10 AM to 12 Noon. A Celebration Gathering will also take place beginning at 3:00 P.M. on Friday June 15, 2018 at Don’s Driftwood Inn in Croton. The family invites you to attend the service and gathering.
