Donald Veeneman

Donald Roger Veeneman, age 76, of Coopersville, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2023. He was born in Grand Rapids, MI to the late Harvey and Louise (Neimeyer) Veeneman. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son Drew Veeneman in 2017. Don served in the U.S. Air Force, was a member of the Grand Haven American Legion Post 28, Elks Lodge and the Eagles. He retired from Consumers Energy where he worked as a Lineman. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with family and friends. In addition to the power company Don worked as a police officer for the Coopersville and Ottawa County police department. Don will be deeply missed by his children, Brent (April) Veeneman, Aaron (Jeanie) Veeneman and Stacey (Blair) Cook; grandchildren, Reece Veeneman, Blake Westcomb, Megan (Camron) Roche, Parker Veeneman, Caden Veeneman, Ailyn Cook and Vaugn Cook; great grandson, Grayson Roche; mother of his children Mary Veeneman; brother, Kalvin “Kal” Veeneman. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 6, 2023 at Grace Lutheran Church, 300 Cleveland St. E. Coopersville, MI 49404 with Rev. Joel Hoyer officiating. Burial will take place in Coopersville-Polkton Twp. Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday, January 5, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Throop Funeral home, 214 Church St. Coopersville, MI 49404 and one hour prior to the service at church. In lieu of flowers the family encourages memorial donations be made to the Grand Haven American Legion Post 28, 700 S Harbor Dr, Grand Haven, MI 49417.
