Donald Feenstra

Donald J. Feenstra, age 90, went to be with his Lord and Saviour Tuesday, April 14, 2015. He was born in Grand Rapids, MI to the late Thomas and Irene (Kroontje) Feenstra. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II in the South Pacific and worked as a truck driver for Holland Motor Express retiring in 1986 after 35 years of service. He was a member of the Lamont Christian Reformed Church since 1948 where he served as an Elder, Deacon and Sunday School Teacher and also served on the Lamont Christian School Board. He was preceded in death by his son Robert Feenstra on Nov 13, 2014. Don is survived by his wife of 66 years Millie; daughter, Marianne and Jerry McDonald; daughter-in-law, Karen Feenstra; grandson, Bobby and Kristin Feenstra and great grandchildren Bo and Annie; granddaughter, Angela and Jerry Radle and a soon to arrive great granddaughter; grandson Danny McDonald; sisters-in-law, Ruth Lamberts, Rose Feenstra; Polly Stroven and Laveen Stroven and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Evelyn and brothers, Ray and Lester. Funeral Services will be held 11:30 a.m. Friday at the Lamont Christian Reformed Church with Rev Ron Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery at Lamont. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday one hour prior to the service at Church. The family wishes to thank the staff of Visiting Angels and Yorkshire Manor for their care.
