Dennis Bird

Dennis Patrick Bird, age 58, of Allendale, formerly of Coopersville, passed away suddenly Saturday October 26, 2013 after a very short battle with cancer. Dennis was born March 22, 1955 to Carroll Bird and Beverly (Erwin) Thompson who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by two nephews Jonathan Berry and Deverin Simons. Dennis served in the US Army as a medic during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed spending time with his son, Patrick, daughter-in-law, Sarah and his family and friends. Dennis was Michigané�a�a��s oldest certified Radon contractor and owned and operated Radon Control Services in the West Michigan area. Dennis was an avid motorcyclist and was a member of the Axemen Michigan Chapter 2 motorcycle club. He was also a member of the Tri-County Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie 4467 Sand Lake, North Kent 3430, and active with Gildas Club in Grand Rapids. Dennis will be deeply missed by his son Patrick, and daughter-in-law Sarah Bird; soon to be granddaughter Alysia Charlotte Bird, girlfriend, Cynthia Marshall and her family Amy, Elijah and Amya Marshall; siblings Paula (Larry) Berens, Ruth (Otto) Langkawel, Darlene Thompson, Richard Thompson, Keith (Rain) Thompson, several nieces, nephews and many special friends. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Oct 30, 2013, 11:00 am at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St, Coopersville, MI with interment in Rosedale Cemetery, Grand Rapids, MI. Relatives and friends may meet the family Tuesday from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home in Coopersville and Wednesday one hour prior to the service.
