Mr. Dean Edward Heath, aged 83 of Grand Rapids, formerly of Coopersville, entered peacefully into God's eternal life on November 15, 2014. Born January 26, 1931, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanetta Eileen, parents, Marion and Vesta Heath, an infant son, David Wayne, brother Donald Heath, son-in-law Fred Gibbons, and one granddaughter, Kristi Lynn VanderMeulen. Dean is survived by five children: Rev. Marcia Reiff (Terry) of Webster, New York, Brenda VanderMeulen (Jack) of Holland, Mark Heath (Debbie) of Howard City, Linda Knight of Grand Rapids, and Carol Hiscock (Shel) of Winona, Minnesota. He is also survived by his brother, Duane Heath (Edith), sisters-in-law Thelma Boroff (Ken), Linda Randall (Louis), Ollie Ruthruff (Leon) and Joanne Helmer. Other survivors include 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He served in the US Army during Korea. Dean was the president of Heath Manufacturing for many years. He served on the Coopersville Public Schools board and was a charter member of the Church of the Saviour, RCA. He enjoyed summers at the cottage on Cowden Lake, especially waterskiing and playing golf at Birchwood Golf Course, which he purchased after his retirement. He also loved silly poetry, old movies (especially musicals) and comedians from Jack Benny to Jeff Foxworthy. He loved to fly his Cessna and created many memories buzzing over his passengersé�a�a�� homes. Funeral Services will be held Thursday 3:00 pm at Church of The Saviour, 180 N. 68th Ave, Coopersville, Rev Lawrence Doorn officiating. Burial in Coopersville Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6:30 to 8:30 pm at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St, Coopersville.
