David Reeves

David Alan Reeves, age 69, was driving to work Tuesday, March 17, 2015, when he pulled over on 48th Ave. and suffered a cardiac arrest. He was in control until the end of his life here on earth. Born in Muskegon to Betty Jane Peppler and Daniel Reeves on Dec. 22, 1945, Dave grew up in Coopersville spending much of his youth with his Great Grandma Maud Barkel, his grandparents Henrietta and Owen Peppler, and his younger sister, Connie. All have preceded him in death. Dave was a complex man who enjoyed simple pleasures. He loved telling a good story é�a�" no matter how many times it took. A 1964 graduate of Coopersville High School, he attended Michigan State university before marrying Sharon Bakes, the love of his life. Together, they raised two children, lived and worked in many places and ultimately owned and operated their own business, Reeves Plastics, back in their hometown of Coopersville. He leaves behind his beloved Sharon, their daughter Kim with her husband Mark and their children Samy and Dave Lempke, and their son Jim with his wife Ann and their children Darby, Zoe, Chloe, and Claire Reeves. Dave is also survived by many cousins on the Barkel side and by his in-laws from the Bakes side; Jan Palma, Norma Fahling, Dave and Joyce Stoppenhagen and Ray Sadowski, along with many nieces and nephews. We will miss him so very much. Join us at Throop Funeral Home in Coopersville on Saturday, March 21st from 1:00 to 2:30 for a memorial gathering and brief service.
