Clarence Vredevoogd

On September 10, 2016, Clarence éaECokeéaa Vredevoogd, by the grace of God, was ushered into His presence to receive his eternal reward. He was preceded in death by his brother, Marvin Vredevoogd and brother-in-law Alvin Schepers. He is survived by Jo, his wife of 70 years; his children, Rick (Dianne) Vredevoogd of Hudsonville, Jackie (Carl) Adema of Beallsville, MD, Paula (Dan) Triezenberg of Granger, IN, Mary (Harold) Veldman of Allendale, and Brian (Sue) Vredevoogd of Muskegon; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; sisters, Gertrude (Dick) Winkel and Esther Schepers; brothers, Jack (Lois) Vredevoogd, Dennis (Peggy) Vredevoogd, Wilfred (Sandy) Vredevoogd, Calvin (Jan) Vredevoogd, Larry (Phyllis) Vredevoogd, and Harry Vredevoogd; many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are Marguerite Vredevoogd, Joyce Vredevoogd and Ana Vredevoogd. Clarence was a teacher in the Christian Schools of Michigan for 42 years. He began in Muskegon, went to Vogel Center, Lucas-McBain, Lamont, and Sylvan. He served for many years as an elder in the Lamont Christian Reformed Church. Over a period of ten years he wrote the lead articles for the adult Sunday school publication for the CRC Publishing House as well as writing Bible curriculum for Christian Schools International. During many of his retired years he graded papers for Crossroads Bible Institute, a prison ministry. We celebrate the life and family God allowed him to enjoy; we especially rejoice in the salvation from sins, through the blood of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The family wishes to extend a thank you to the staff at Brookcrest for the care they gave to Coke.
