Christine Ruth (DeMott) Wynsma

Christine Ruth Wynsma, age 68, of Grand Rapids, passed away suddenly Monday, November 27, 2023, while bravely fighting cancer. She was born in Grand Rapids, MI to the late John and Ruth (Kishman) DeMott. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister Kim DeMott. Christine was a graduate of Coopersville High School class of 1973. She was a terrific mom, and her kids and grandchildren were her life. There was never a day that went by, where she didn’t brag about her family, and their accomplishments. To say that her family and friends will miss her greatly is an understatement. Christine would want to be remembered and acknowledged as a hardworking, loving mother, who enjoyed life and laughter. She is survived by her husband of 51 years Robert Wynsma; children, Hank (Cheryl) Wynsma, Robert Jr. (Sue) Wynsma and Casey (Jaime) Wynsma; grandchildren, Sofia Wynsma, Lukus Mendoza, Lando Mendoza, Kali (Andy) Wawrzyniak, Alexa Wynsma, Mason Wynsma and Drew Wynsma; great granddaughter, Payton Wawrzyniak; sisters, Deb (Rick) Heyt and Gail Denny. 

In keeping with her wish cremation has taken place. A Life Celebration Gathering will be held Saturday, December 2, 2023, 11:00am - 2:30pm at the Grand Haven VFW Post 2326, 20 North 1st St., Grand Haven, MI 49417
