Breen - Charlton Glenn "Chuck" Breen, aged 35, born on Nov 5, 1974, passed away from Melanoma Cancer at the home of his parents in Coopersville on May 3, 2010. Chuck was formerly of Tallmadge Twp. and South Haven. Chuck will be remembered for his unwavering walk with God, his faithfulness, humbleness and his never ending passion to help those less fortunate, his leadership roles in all walks of life and promoting peace and justices for all. Chuck was a 1999 graduate of Central Michigan University and a Band Director for nine years, before currently being a student at Western Theological Seminary. Chuck leaves behind his very dear friend, Jackie Spycher of Mt. Pleasant, and his dog Tasha. Chuck was preceded in death by his grandmother Nelva Stroven, cousin Ryan Broene, and cousin Jessica VanHeest. Chuck also touched the lives of his parents, Rick and Mary Breen of Coopersville; brother, Andrew Breen of Marne; brother and sister-in-law, Greg and Melissa Breen and nieces, Kieleigh, and Kaitlin and nephew, Chase of Marne; very special grandparents, Glenn and Polly Stroven, and Ray and Geri Breen all of Marne; many aunts; uncles; cousins; friends and his very special church family of South Haven United Methodist Church and refugee friends from Darfur (Sudan). Chuck also worked passionately on the board of Love Inc. in South Haven, was coordinator for The Michigan Darfur Coalition and The Sudan Lutheran Community Development. Funeral Services will be held Friday 11:00 am at the Coopersville Reformed Church, 423 W. Randall St, Coopersville. with his pastor Rev. John Fisher and Rev Richard Terpstra officiating. Burial in Lamont Cemetery. Visitation Thursday 2-4 and 6-9 pm at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St, Coopersville and Friday one hour prior to the funeral service at church. The family suggests in lieu of flowers that you consider a lasting memorial gift to Michigan Darfur Coalition, Western Theological Seminary, or Love Inc. of South Haven MI.
