Charles Lown

Lown, Charles Samuel Lown, aged 72, of Paducah, KY. died Thursday Nov 4, 2010 at his home. Charles was born April 26, 1938 in Garden, Michigan to the late Dr. John A. and Dorothy A. Lown. He graduated from the University of Michigan with a masters degree in electrical engineering. He worked for Westvaco Paper Company for over 40 years. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting. He was known for his service to the community through his work at election polling and many years of service to the NAACP ranging from fundraising to holding office in the local chapter. To his friends and family he was always kind and patient and generous to a fault. He will be deeply missed by all of us. Surviving are two sons, Dr. Kenneth Lown of Ada, MI and John Lown of Los Angeles, CA and his brother Dr. John A. Lown of Coopersville, MI. Memorial services will be held 6:30 pm Tuesday Nov 23, 2010 at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St, Coopersville, MI.
