Charles Gilson

Charles “Charlie” Gilson, age 68, passed away Monday, November 22, 2021. He was born to the late James and Alice (Brethauer) Gilson of Marne, MI. Charles enjoyed spending time outside hunting and fishing, spending time with family, and working around the farm with family and friends, had a deep love for music and spending time with friends. He was a man that always put others first and lived by his motto of “see a need fill a need”. He will be deeply missed by his children, Karin (Nick) Baker, Lisa (Nate) Mencarelli, Andrea (Mitch) Patrick; his pride and joy grandchildren, Carter, Isabelle, Chase, Charlee, and Sawyer; siblings, Terry (Claudia) Gilson, Barbara (Jack) Nederveld, David (Beverly) Gilson; special nephew, Kelly Gilson; the love of his life Luanne Gilson; partner in crime, Phil Kuyers, and several nieces and nephews. In keeping with his wish cremation has taken place. Relative and friends may meet the family from 4:00 to 7:00 pm Monday, November 29, 2021 at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St. Coopersville, MI 49404.
