Charlene R. Denny, age 90, formerly of Grand Rapids, passed away July 7, 2019, in St. Mary’s, GA. She was not a fan of Michigan winters and moved to the South many years prior to her passing. Her strong body gave way to the many complications of old age. Born April 8, 1929 in Conklin, MI., to the late, Irwin and Caroline (Beuschel) Reister. After graduation from Coopersville High School, she married the late Gerald (Gus) Denny on November 24, 1949. She is survived by four sons; Gregory (Rev. Ellen) Denny, Dwight, Michael (Pam), Bradley, and a still born baby daughter. She is also, proudly, survived by 11 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Lois (Bill) Little and twin sister, Charlotte (Ralph) Roman. Char was an avid reader and never stopped learning and expanding her knowledge of the world. She loved to cook and bake, a skill she instilled in her son’s. She was an excellent seamstress with a great love for making wedding dresses with hand beading. She passed this skill on to many young ladies, who won awards for their sewing, in 4-H classes. She was a good friend and had good friends, both young and old. In her later years she loved collecting Hummel’s, stamps, coins, lighthouses, jewelry and Christmas, Christmas, Christmas!
