Carl G. Mayeaux, age 85, of Conklin, MI., passed away Sunday, August 14, 2016. Carl was born in Big Bend Louisiana to the late Louis and Mable (Farbe) Mayeaux. He served in the Air Force during Korea, worked at Steelcase in Grand Rapids beginning in 1959 and retiring in 1995 with 36 years of service. Carl enjoyed spending time with his family, motorcycles, attending horse shows and showing his horses. He also boarded horses at his home for many years and worked throughout West Michigan as a farrier for 10 years. He is survived by his wife of 34 years Nancy; children, Christopher (Laureen) Mayeaux, Eric (Angie) Mayeaux, Alison (Mike) Briggs, Brandy Butler and Ray Hill, David (Jamie) Henrich, Cynthia Mayeaux and Cheryl (Mike) Powell; 14 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; brother-in-law, Louis (Sandy) Czewski; sister-in-law, Sandra (Thomas) Ball and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Carl was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law Louis and Elizabeth Mayeaux. A Life Celebration Service will be held 2 PM, Thursday at the Throop Funeral Home in Coopersville with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Marne Cemetery.
