Van Beek Mr Carl Van Beek aged 89, of North Blendon, was called home to his Lord and Saviour Monday, Oct 5, 2009. He was a veteran of the US Army and served his country during WW II. Carl was very active in the North Blendon Reformed Church. He was a self employed carpenter before taking a job at Chris Craft Boats, and later retired from Grand Valley College. Carl is survived by his wife Lois; children Jim (Connie) Van Beek, David (Vondalee) Van Beek, and Lu Ann (Rick) Raterink; 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; brother, Richard (Lavina) Van Beek; sisters, Josephine Stroven, and Shirley Jean (Bob) Hoeksema; brother-in-law, Gerald (Pat) Cappy; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Thursday 11:00 am at North Blendon Reformed Church. Rev Nate Meldrim officiating. Burial in Lamont Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Throop Funeral Home, Coopersville and Thursday one hour prior to the service at North Blendon Church. In lieu of flowers the family suggest a charity of ones choice.
