Bruce Reffeor

Reffeor - Mr Bruce David Reffeor, aged 68, of Coopersville formerly of Montague passed away Saturday, Oct 3, 2009. Bruce was born and raised in Sunbury, PA. and in 1961 he married his high school sweetheart, Charlotte. In 1966, Bruce and his wife moved to Montague, Mi where they lived for 27yrs. Bruce taught math and science at Oakridge Jr High School. After 7 years he left teaching to work full time as co-owner and eventually owner of Reffeor and Brown Construction. He built many homes in the Montague, Shelby, and Whitehall area. Bruce sold his construction business in 1986 and took a job at Muskegon Community College as lead carpenter where he worked until his retirement in 2003. Bruce was an avid Ham Radio Operator and member of the Muskegon Amateur Radio Council, and Michigan Amateur Radio Alliance in Grand Rapids. He enjoyed jumping out of perfectly good airplanes (skydiving), gourmet cooking, traveling and practical jokes. He was preceded in death by his parents Bruce and Clara Reffeor, and brother Michael Reffeor. Surviving are his wife Charlotte, two daughters, Cindy (Patrick) Kehoe of Lowell and Wendy (John) Klein of Ravenna; 4 grandchildren, Stephanie and Annette Kehoe, and Katelyn and Ryan Klein; brother, Terence (Ruth) Reffeor of Bloomsburg, PA; sister-in-law, Marie (Rodger) Ludwig of Winfield, PA; and several nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. Memorial Services Tuesday 11:00 am at the Coopersville United Methodist Church, 105 68th Ave, Coopersville., Rev John Morse officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St, Coopersville and Tuesday from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the Coopersville United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers memorials to the DeVos Childrené�a�a��s Hospital, Grand Rapids MI appreciated.
