Billy Gene Abbott, age 84, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2024. He was born in Obion, TN to the late Albright and Gladys (Williams) Abbott. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by son Tim Abbott; siblings, Bob Abbott, Jim Abbott, Jack (Sharon) Abbott and special friend Jackie Koster. Billy enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, gambling, fishing and attending mud bogs. He will be deeply missed by his son, Brian (Ronda) Abbott; grandchildren, Megan (Josh) Herrygers, Tim (Taylor) Abbott, Morgan Abbott, Madison Abbott; great grandchildren, Brynlee Abbott, Layne Abbott, Ben Herrygers, Ryan Herrygers; brother, Jerry (Susan) Abbott; several nieces and nephews; best friends, Dick Raymer and George Raymer. In keeping with his wish cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday, January 26, 2024 at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St. Coopersville, MI 49404, with Rev. Mark Oswald officiating. Burial will take place in Rosedale Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday, January 26, 2024 from 12:00 to 1:00 P.M. at the Throop Funeral home.
