Betty L. Stroven, of Coopersville, was called home to her Lord, Saturday evening January 21, 2017. Betty was born in Grand Rapids to the late John and Luella (Williams) Roskamp. Betty was preceded in death by her husband Willis Stroven on Aug 22, 2013; sisters and brothers-in-law, Nida and Lambert Dykstra, Leora and Arend Kremer, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Jane and Robert Laug and special friends Margaret and Peter Schaaphok. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, was active at the Coopersville Reformed Church where she taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, was a member of the Ladies Guild and Choir member for many years. Betty is survived by her children; Cyndi (Gregory) Butler, Tim (Christine) Stroven; grandchildren, Paul (Jodie) Butler, Ryan (Julie) Butler, Phil (Jackie) Butler, Bradley Butler, Melanie Stroven, Benjamin Stroven, Ross Stroven and Cassie Stroven; 11 great grandchildren; brother, John (Judy) Roskamp, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 11:00 a.m. at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St, Coopersville with Rev Robert VanManen and Rev Arnold VanBeek officiating. Burial will be in the Coopersville-Polkton Twp. cemetery. Visitation Tuesday 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home and Wednesday one hour prior to the service.
