Bertram L. Budai

Bertram L. “Bert” Budai, age 79, of Ravenna, passed away peacefully at his home on April 19, 2025, with family at his side.

He was born on July 26, 1945, in Ravenna Michigan to the late Robert and Thelma (Botruff) Budai.

While growing up in Ravenna, Bert had many hobbies and interests including playing his trumpet in a band, riding horses with his friend Jim and owning fast cars. He graduated from Ravenna High in 1963 and afterwards joined the service.

He enlisted in the Navy and served his country in Vietnam. During his service he completed over 100 combat missions and received the Purple Heart for injuries received during combat. After an Honorable discharge, he returned to Ravenna to continue life while working and enjoying his many hobbies.

Soon he met the love of his life Mary Budai (Stockinger) and with the love of Jesus and his wife, they raised a family while living and loving life to the fullest.

Survivors include Mary, his wife of 45 years, son Mike (Michelle) Budai, daughter Marcia Warden, and grandchildren Riley, Mikey, Sarah, Liam, Lucas and Tom and great grandchild Aniela. He was preceded in death by his mom and dad and sister Connie. A private family graveside service will be held at the Ravenna Cemetery.
