Barbara Jewell

Barbara L. (Karafa) Jewell, age 76, passed away Tuesday April 4, 2023 at her home. Barb was born in Grand Haven, MI., to the late James and Louise (Goerz) Karafa. In addition to her parents Barb was preceded in death by her husband Verlin Jewell on Aug. 10, 2019, and brother James Karafa. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, sewing, growing strawberries and working around her home. She will be missed by her son, Tom (Brenda) Lasko; daughter, Lori (Dan) Truax; grandchildren and great grandchildren, Kaylia (Josh) Patton and Schay, Terrin and Evelyn, Krista (Dylan) Veach and Addelyn and Olivea, Keeda Lasko, Michael (Taylor) VanderMaas, Alyssa (Pete) Demaat and Maya and Jimmy; brothers Jack (Sandy) Karafa, Joe (Pam) Karafa and John (Cindy) Karafa; nieces, nephews, friends and her constant companion Strohs her beloved dog. In keeping with her wish cremation has taken place. A Life Celebration Memorial Service will be held 2:00 P.M., Thursday April 6, 2023 at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St, Coopersville, MI. Relatives and Friends may greet the family Thursday one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2 P.M. at the funeral home, Interment will take place in the Coopersville Cemetery next to her husband Verlin.
