Arlyn Shook

Arlyn J. Shook, age 84, of Zephyrhills, FL., formerly of Coopersville, MI., passed away Sunday, June 10, 2018 in Zephyrhills, FL., listening to sounds of the Loons with family at his side. Arlyn was a graduate of Coopersville High School, served in the U.S. Army, worked with his Dad Orus at his barber shop in Coopersville for a short time before becoming a Realtor and eventually opening and owning Arlyn Shook Real Estate in Coopersville. Arlyn enjoyed spending time with family and friends, boating, watching the Loons on the lake and traveling north to his hunting cabin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Orus and Dorothy (Allen) Shook and brother Philip. Arlyn is survived by his longtime companion, Frances “Fran” Kesling; daughter, Tamara Taylor; son, Aaron Shook (Beth Elliott); grandchildren, Ian Graham, Arianna (Brandon) Navas, Aleah Shook and Lauren Shook; sister-in-law, Barbara Shook; nieces, nephews and cousins. In keeping with his wish cremation has taken place. A Life Celebration Memorial Service will be held June 27, 2018, Wednesday, 6:00 P.M. at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St, Coopersville, MI 49404 with visitation one hour prior to the service.
