Arlene Joyce (Pastoor) Hammond, age 87, of Coopersville, passed away Sunday, February 7, 2021. She was born in Grand Rapids, MI., to the late William and Lillian (Markoski) Pastoor and was a graduate of South High School in Grand Rapids. Arlene was preceded in death by her husband Richard Hammond Sr. on March 10, 2006. She is a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church and is a current member at St Luke Lutheran Church in Nunica. As a child she attended Redeemer Lutheran Church in Grand Rapids and is also a past member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Grandville and Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Jenison. She enjoyed raising Sheltie dogs and worked at Sam’s Club in Comstock Park for several years. She will be deeply missed by her children, Richard Hammond Jr., Thomas (Linda) Hammond, Rhonda (Gary) Beld, Sherri (Marty) Hammond-Rodriguez, Michael (Julie) Hammond and Robert (Dianne) Hammond; 14 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; sister, Shirley (Michael) Salhaney; sisters-in-law, Sandra (Bill) Gensen and Barbara Knapp; several nieces and nephews. Due to Covid restrictions Masks and Social Distancing are required at the visitation and funeral. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2021 at St Luke Lutheran Church, 17122 2nd St, Nunica, MI 49448 with Rev. Brennan Woell officiating. Burial in Coopersville-Polkton Twp. Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday Feb. 10, 2021 from 12 noon to 1:00 P.M at St Luke Lutheran Church in Nunica. Memorial donations may be made to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, P.O.
