Arlene Sue Begin (Langeland), age 59, of Lamont, devoted wife and mother, dedicated daughter and sister, and an amazing aunt to many, passed away after a second battle with cancer on Sunday, evening, Jan. 3, 2016. Arlene was born in Zeeland, MI. on Sept. 25, 1956 to Fred Jr. and Shirley (Koster) Langeland. Arlene was the second child and the first daughter of 8. Arlene is survived by her husband of 23 years, David Begin; daughter, Traci Langeland, parents, Fred Jr. and Shirley Langeland ; mother-in-law, Sandy (Jim) Masko; siblings, Dale (Jill) Langeland, Tom (Connie) Langeland, Doug (Kathy) Langeland, Roger (Tammy) Langeland, Ron (Karla) Langeland, Amy Looks (Rod Innes), Tammy (Keith) Weis; sister-in-law Rhonda (Duane) Strating; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Arlene was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Charles Begin; Uncles, John Koster, Vernon Langeland, Allen Van Houten and Aunt, Caroline Van Houten. Everyone that crossed paths with Arlene adored her and her sweet smile! Anyone that knew Arlene knows that everything was AWESOME in her eyes. Arlene enjoyed her cabin, fishing, hunting, kayaking, tubing, canning things from her garden, watching sports (Detroit Tigers and Red Wings) and most of all spending time with her family and friends. Funeral services will be held Thursday, 1:00 pm at Little Farms Church, 2518 Arthur St, with Rev Robert VanManen officiating. Burial will be in Maplewood cemetery at Lamont. Visitation will be Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St, Coopersville. Memorial donations may be made to Gentiva Hospice or The American Cancer Society.
