Arden "Ardy" Afton

Arden “Ardy” Afton, age 88, of Marne MI., passed away Monday December 5, 2022 unexpectedly at his home. He owned and operated a lawn care service and was still caring for a select few lawns at the age of 88. Ardy was a man who lived life on his terms and enjoyed spending time outdoors and at his property on Hardy Pond, camping, boating, riding motorcycles and snowmobiling. Ardy was preceded in death by his wife Julie (VanMaldegen) Afton on July 19, 2021 as well as his parents William and Ruby (Wolter) Afton. He is survived by his daughter, Nancy (David) Phillips; granddaughter, Rebecca (Mike) Pardue; grandson, Michael (Cathy) Phillips; stepson, David Gregware and several other family and friends. Visitation and A Life Celebration Gathering will be held Sunday, December 11, 2022 from 1 to 3 P.M. at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St, Coopersville, MI 49404.Burial will take place next to his wife Julie at Idlewild Cemetery in Kent City, MI.  Online condolences may be left on his tribute wall at www.throopfh.com
