Anthony Steffes

Anthony "Butch" Alexander Steffes, age 52, was called home by our heavenly Father on Saturday, November 12, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer. Butch will lovingly be remembered by his wife of 30 years Connie (Case), their children Abby (Ian) Hilgendorf, Luke (Amanda) Steffes, and Libby Steffes, his parents Merlin and Angela Steffes, his siblings Barbara (David) Armock, Mike (Rhonda) Steffes, Mary (John) VandenBrink, Eloise (Steve) Carew, Lois (Joe) Lothschutz, Steve (Theresa) Steffes, Chris (Shannon) Steffes, Greg (Andrea) Steffes, Margaret (Doug) Murphy, Mark (Sally) Steffes, Merlin Steffes, Jr., and Matt (Barb) Steffes, his in-laws Ray and Joanne Case, many brothers/sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins, and friends. Butch graduated from Coopersville High School in 1977 and from Aquinas College in 1981. He went on to receive his M.B.A. from the University of Notre Dame's Mendoza College of Business in 1997, graduating at the top of his class. Butch was outsourced from Amway's Treasury Department earlier this year, after thirty years of service. In his spare time, Butch devoted himself to many organizations, including the Notre Dame Alumni Club of Grand Rapids where he was a former President and Treasurer, as well as, the Coopersville Athletic Boosters. He was an active member of St. Michael's Church and School in Coopersville, Michigan. Butch was an avid fan of Michigan and Notre Dame football. Throughout his life, Butch gave so much to others, never asking for anything in return. He will be deeply missed by all of his family and friends. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Tuesday at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 17151 88th Ave, Coopersville MI 49404. Fr. Mel Fox Celebrant. Relatives and friends may meet the family on Monday from 2 to 4pm and 6:30 to 8:30 pm at St Michaelé�a�a��s Catholic Church in Coopersville. The Rosary service will be held Monday 8:30 pm at Church. The family will also greet relatives and friends one hour prior to the funeral mass Tuesday at church. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made on behalf of Butch to St. Michael's School in Coopersville, Michigan. An online guestbook may be signed at www.throopfh.com.
