Finkler Mr Carl Joseph Finkler aged 93, of Marne passed away Friday April 16, 2010 surrounded by his family. Carl was born March 5, 1917 in Grand Rapids Mi to Charles and Hattie (Steiner) Finkler of Marne. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his son Charles J. who passed away April 14, 2010. Carl was a very active life member of St Mary’s Catholic Church of Marne. He was a full time farmer and also worked full time in Grand Rapids for 29 years at Guardsman Chemical Co. retiring in 1979. He enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening, and travel. After his retirement Carl and his wife Jennie enjoyed spending winters in Florida and traveled to Alaska and Hawaii as well as 46 other states missing only two states in the country. Carl is survived by his wife of 68 years Jennie; daughter Patricia (Eugene) LeMieux; son David (Claudia) Finkler; 13 Grandchildren; 24 Great Grandchildren; 2 Great Great Grandchildren; sister Annabelle; and several nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday 11:00 A.M. at St Mary’s Catholic Church, 15164 Juniper, Marne. Fr William Zink Celebrant. Burial in St Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday 5 to 8 P.M. with the Rosary Prayers at 8:00 P.M. at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St, Coopersville and one hour prior to the Funeral Mass at church.
