Obituary

Carol Ann Camden, age 76, of Holland, passed away suddenly Monday evening September 26, 2016. Carol was a devoted wife to her husband of 51 years Attorney William “Bill” Camden; loving mother to Andy (Amber) Camden and Amy (Brian) Ransler; caring grandmother to Ashley, Audrey, Austin, Nathan and James; sister to David Kromer, Virginia Neis and Mary Lou Kromer; sister-in-law to James (Carolyn) Camden Ph.D. and aunt to several nieces and nephews. She was born in Coopersville MI to the late Adolph and Theresa (Brown) Kromer the youngest of 4 children she loved to tell stories of her childhood on the farm. Carol attended a one-room school house in Coopersville for her elementary school years and then went on to high school at Marywood Academy in Grand Rapids. She completed her education at Lawrence School of Nursing in Lansing where she received her Registered Nurse degree. She enjoyed a diverse and rewarding career in nursing caring for patients in a psychiatric ward, victims of traumatic brain injury, families at the health department, and donors at the blood bank and her most cherished time in the newborn nursery. In her retirement, Carol loved to travel the country with her husband Bill (and their cat Mia) in their motorhome. A life-long Catholic who was strong in her faith, she made sure to find a church where-ever they were staying. She had a passion for NASCAR, was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Tigers, Lions and Red Wings. She loved to play games and usually won more than she lost during her daily games of Rummikub and Dominos with Bill. She had a great eye for detail and knew how to make any gift look like something special. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2016 at St Michael’s Catholic Church, 17150 88th Ave, Coopersville, MI 49404 with burial in St Michael’s Catholic Cemetery in Coopersville.
