Obituary

Mr. Thomas Steven Phelps Sr., aged 59, of Kent City passed away Friday, April 20, 2012. Tom was born Aug 5, 1952 to Robert and Jean (Woudstra) Phelps Sr. both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brother Joe Phelps. Tom is survived by his son, Thomas “TJ” Phelps Jr; siblings, Robert (Carol) Phelps Jr, Sue Tinney, Dave (Helen) Phelps, Sandy (Tom) Boomershine, John Phelps, Nancy (Bryant) Almyda and many nieces and nephews. In keeping with Tom’s wish cremation has taken place with interment in Marne Cemetery. A memorial service will be held Monday 6:00 pm at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St, Coopersville. Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday one hour prior to the funeral service. Memorials may be made to the TJ Phelps Education Fund, c/o Sandy Boomershine.
